Pollina is an ancient medieval village which rises up on a large hill
overlooking the sea. The main church, S Giovanni and Paolo, preserves
works of art of great artistic value, most of which are by Gagini.
Also of great interest, due to its splendid views, is the little amphitheatre
which has been recently constructed according to the typical characteristics
of Greek theatres. The village of Pollina (together with Castelbuono)
is well-known for the by now very rare gathering and working of manna,
a sweet paste which is obtained from trees of ash. On the coast
you can find the small bathing resort of Finale di Pollina which, with
its crystal clear water, encompasses to the east the province of Palermo.
