Driving for less than 20 minutes from geraci you'll reach the two villages
of Petralia.
Petralia Sottana (1,000 metres asl) and Petralia Soprana (the highest
municipality in the province at a height of 1,147 metres) are good examples
of the intense atmosphere of high altitude Sicilian villages with medieval
origins. Representations of local folklore, such as an old-fashioned
wedding corteges and the Dance of the Ribbon, also take place at Petralia
Sottana.
